your ADU & middle housing Guide
Everything you need to navigate affordability, ADUs, and Bellingham housing
Why Affordability Matters

With housing costs as high as they are across the country, the American dream can all too often feel out of reach for too many people. While most real estate professionals might answer this problem with, “the best time to buy was five years ago” every year, that’s unhelpful to prospective buyers that want to find a place to call home. That’s why we’re committed to helping our clients find the solution to their own housing questions, whatever their budget might be.
Affordable housing, at the end of the day, is a supply vs. demand issue: if supply doesn’t keep up with demand, prices will continue to soar. Conversely, if supply outpaces demand, prices will begin to drop as it has in other markets throughout the U.S.

As real estate professionals with decades of experience, we want to be a part of the solution to this widespread problem that affects our communities so negatively. With that in mind, this is how we intend to do just that:
- Partnered with Bellingham ADU, we have the expertise to help current property owners find ways to build ADUs on excess land which, in turn, could help bring in extra income while increasing the housing supply (which can help alleviate some of the strain on high rent prices).
- If you’re qualified for a home loan, we’ll help you explore all your options. For instance, even if your goal is to have a single-family home, we’ll look at condos, apartments, or duplexes as a useful stepping stone to help you build your assets to later leverage into the home you want.
- If you’re not able to afford a home but would like to one day, we can provide resources and expertise to help create a roadmap for you to find what you’re looking for and the steps to get there.
